Happy Halloween! This year was so vastly different from last year and SO MUCH FUN! Lia is old enough to understand the concept of trick or treating and really had a great time going to "more doors" for "more candy in o no pumpy bucket" (more candy in orange pumpkin bucket). She actually tolerated her costume really well and was protective of it even - getting upset if anyone touched her precious wings. Hilarious.
Sydney and Lucy got in on the fun too!
I'm really glad that I got the picture of all three kids inside earlier in the day because once it was time to hit the road, it was game on! No kid was sitting still for pictures! Here's Lia and her friend Mady the monarch butterfly.
And the one thing we can always get these two to do! HUGS!
We had Erin and Halle in the double stroller along for the ride in their bee blankets, but it was a little too hot for the cutie hats... They got a ton of attention as we worked our way around the neighborhood. Apparently everyone had heard about "the people with the little girl and the twins" but had not yet met these precious little ones!

We tried really hard to get the kids to sit for another picture like we did last year. Not too bad of a job, but I don't think they find the adults jumping and screaming to be nearly as entertaining as before... Here is a side by side of last year of Penelope, Mady and Lia.
They grow so fast!
Here's a great example of what we got most of the time!! Calvin was NOT having it...
Out of about 50 shots, this one turned out cute!
Erin and Halle started freaking out about halfway through our trick or treating and AWESOME Aunt Mimi ran back to make bottles. This bought us another 30 minutes of neighborhood roaming, but then it was home to pass out candy. By this point, it was past Lia's bedtime, but I knew there was no way she would settle down. So, decided to let her pass out candy to the other kids. It took her a few times to understand what to do, but after that she LOVED it. Almost more than trick or treating. Each time she would put candy in the kid's bag she would stare up at their faces and look at their costumes with intense curiosity. She anxiously awaited every visitor and waited patiently for "more kids."
"MORE KIDS!!"
Lia kept this up for about 45 minutes and then started to get a little bored in between visits. She got interested in unwrapping the candy and quickly discovered that what she had been handing to other kids (in GIANT two toddler handfuls) was actually pretty good! Not sure if it was purposeful, but after that each kid only got ONE piece of candy each... haha (with Uncle Bob-o giving the kids a bit more on the sly). We had to be on high alert so Lia wouldn't eat every piece of candy in the bin, but clearly she got a few...
Check out that chocolate mouth!
Bedtime was a disaster, but the evening was so worth it! Happy Halloween everyone!
