Whirlwind

Last weekend we took a fast and furious trip to Dallas to celebrate our nephew, Carter's, birthday!  It was the first time we had gone to Dallas since Lia started Kindergarten and losing the ability to leave Thursday afternoon instead of Friday was tough!  We picked Lia up from school on Friday and hit the road.

The kids had a fantastic time and played very well together all weekend.  It was so fun to see all 6 of them really playing - not just co-existing or arguing.  Even more fun to see Preston in the mix.

For Carter's party, Elizabeth and Tyler planned a donut playdate at the park with a few friends.  The park was amazing and the kids had an absolute ball.  The adults were ready to go home well before the kids!

The rest of the day on Saturday was spent hanging out and playing.  It was great to catch up with everyone and the kids really enjoyed seeing each other.  It was funny to realize that I feel connected to the other adults all the time via phone, email, etc, but the kids genuinely miss each other!  We managed to gather the crowd for some family pictures.  Carter seems to despise the camera, but other than that, we got some goodies!

Sunday morning we were packing up and heading home so we could get the kids to bed early for school on Monday.  This school schedule is going to take some adjusting!  I enjoyed my long weekends!!  We had a great time regardless and can't wait for the next time we get to hang out!
