Birthday Day

Erin and Halle's birthday was filled with all sorts of fun things!  We started the day at a bouncy house where they played like crazy for about 2.5 hours.  Then we met up with Todd for lunch and convinced him to come home early!  Todd took the girls for sno cones and I headed home to get things set up for their big surprise.

When we were all home, my parents and Amy and Stephen came over to celebrate with some cake and happy hour.

Mimi and Bob-o got the girls these awesome unicorn blankets!

Lia was super excited to give the girls the gifts she chose specifically for them.  A doctor barbie for Erin and hair color kit for Halle.  Both were total wins.

I didn't get any pictures unfortunately, but my parents got both girls cute jewelry sets and walkie talkies!  After the beach, they were super excited to have them to play with here too!

I made a scavenger hunt for the kids to follow in order to get their final gift from me and Todd.  Each envelope was a picture of a place in the house they had to go and find the next envelope.  Lia and Halle were running around like crazy people while Erin went and retrieved each envelope one by one, coming back to her seat in the kitchen each time.  So funny to see the different ways they went about the same task.

At the end, Erin's card was leading her to the front porch and Halle's was leading her to garage (I was trying to avoid having the surprise spoiled by the one who could open faster...  I think it worked.  Halle even screamed what it was and Erin didn't seem to even notice.  Perfect.

They donned their helmets and they were off to the races.  Zero instruction required.  It was INSANE how fast they were able to just start riding.  Balance bikes for the WIN!  We've also been practicing on Lia's bike, but still - it was super impressive.

Very special shout out to Bob-o who took these identical bikes and made them look completely different from each other with vinyl.  They were both basically all white before he started!  Amazing work.  Halle's is color changing purple-teal vinyl and Erin's is pink sparkle polka dot.  I was incredible happy with how they turned out and very thankful for all the hard work Stephen put in (I think it was a little harder than anyone thought it would be!!!).  Thank you Stephen!!!

Since their birthday, we've been on 3 big bike rides to the parks in the area and it is so fun.  Like a whole new world has opened up to us - a bike riding family world!  So fun!!!
