Toothless Wonder

My kid's smile will never be the same!  Lia lost her very first tooth last night!

It has been wiggling since we went camping and it was SO CLOSE to coming out.  I think she was just nervous about pulling it afraid that it was going to hurt.  Erin and Halle had library day at school and Halle chose a book called Silverlicious all about a little girl (Pinkalicious) losing a tooth.  Halle was so excited to have picked a book that "it just for you Lia!  It is all about your tooth!" - so cute.

We read the book last night for story time and Lia was sitting there the whole time wiggling the heck out of her tooth.  She wanted it out!  Before we tuck the kids in for bed, we give them 10 minutes to read or settle down in their room.  During her 10 minutes, Lia came racing from her room "LOOK LOOK LOOK!!  I got it out!!!  I lost it in my room!"  It was super exciting and she was so proud that "it didn't even hurt at all, it just popped right out!"  It took a bit to realize that she actually lost her tooth in her room.  Like - couldn't find where it went...  So, we had a late night family tooth hunt.

Todd's eagle eyes spotted it quickly and Lia was excited to check it out.

Stuck it in her tooth fairy pillow, drilled me on questions related to the tooth fairy's abilities and where the teeth go (they are stars, if you didn't know....) and what the tooth fairy would bring b/c her friend in school got $20.00 (uh, no).

Lia bolted out of bed this morning and was pleased as punch to find $2.00 and some smarties in her tooth fairy pillow.  :)

My big girl.
