At first they were not sure what exactly a recital was, so their teachers did some role playing with them and got them all ready. When they day finally came, you could tell Lia was more nervous than excited and Erin and Halle were more excited than nervous. Par for the course with these three I think.
They had the chance to warm up and practice their songs before performing and then came to sit down and wait for their turn on stage!
The music school has several instructors and lots of different instruments the kids can learn. Best of all, it is super close to the house! There were kids of all ages getting up and performing on violin, viola, ukulele, guitar, piano and some singers as well. I think it was awesome for my kiddos to see kids of different ages and ability levels all performing their pieces for everyone.
Going into this day, I was interested in setting the kids up for success and ensuring they had a good experience. The quality of their performance totally didn't matter to me, I was interested in seeing how they handled themselves under the pressure of nerves and having to do something in front of others. I was super proud of all three of them. They got up there, did their thing, and you could tell they were proud (and relieved) when they were done!
Lia was the first up from our family and you could tell she was SUPER nervous. She did so awesome!!!

So stinking amazing. And adorable.
Erin was next and she bounded up to the piano and played her piece like it was no big thing. This kid continues to surprise me.

Look at that PRIDE!!
Halle was a little more timid, but I think seeing her sisters go before her was helpful and she knocked it out of the park.

That little bitty smile creeped up on her face after she finished her first song and got applause for it.

All done!!
All three of them enjoyed the applause after and see how proud they were of themselves was amazing.
