FIrst Day of School!

Today was the first day of school!  Virtually of course.  Overall, I'd say the day was a smashing success.  Very little technical issues and lots of happy smiles from the kids.  They are excited to be back in the swing of school for sure. 

The district has all the kids home doing virtual for the first three weeks of school - basically to get everyone used to it so if COVID shuts things down again, everyone knows what to do.  They are doing well keeping the sessions short so the kids aren't totally defeated by screen time - which is great.  They are also telling them that during breaks they are not allowed to look at any screens.  Even suggesting the kids do chores or clean their room - I'm good with that!!  haha.  The schedule will shift and flex as we move forward, but here's week 1!!

 I set a ton of alarms on my phone just to make sure we didn't miss anything...!! 

The kids did really well.  They were attentive with their teachers, had dance parties and show n tell.  Teachers read books and chatted with the kids.  It was refreshing for the kids to be interacting again - even if over the computer. 

It was a happy day!!  COVID can't get us down!  Love these girls and so appreciative of their sweet teachers who are putting in the hard work planning and making this effort worthwhile.  We'll get through it together!
