Up the Ranks

 It was belt testing day!  Always a fun, but nerve-wracking experience.  There is a panel of judges who are all black belts who are assigned to watch a few people at a time.  You get scored and promoted based on your performance.  The kids were first up!  They are all currently ranked as a green belt and were testing for "high green."  The kids' level usually starts half stepping at green to make sure the kids understand and are learning the content appropriately.  So instead of being on the belt level for 10 weeks, it is 20 weeks before they move on to new stuff.  

You can't see Lia in the above video - she was blocked by some tall kid (geez), but just imagine she looked just as awesome!!!

And yes, I did my belt testing too and earned my purple belt!  The adults were much later in the evening that day, so Todd took the kids home for dinner/bedtime.  Purple belt is where shit gets real...  so we'll see how things go from here!
