All Good Things Must Come to an End

Wrapping up the 2021-2022 school year with all sorts of FUN!

Erin and Halle got their turn to participate in the Living History project for school.  Honestly, I was quite annoyed this big project happened so close to the end of the school year - I was over it.  But, we powered through and rallied to get them all set up.

Halle chose to become Kate Middleton.

Erin chose to become Princess Diana (sensing a theme here?).  Lia was Queen Elizabeth last year - so we are fully royal up in here!

The kids each made a poster and stood in the hallways of the school under their poster.  People would walk by and push the "button" on their hand if they were interested in learning more about that person.  The kids were totally exhausted by the end having to say their speech probably 100 times as each grade level toured through.

We visited Brooklynn as well!  She was Ruby Bridges.

Erin's second grade teacher, Ms. Grassmann, stopped by.

At the end of each year, the kids do a "student led conference" where they show us all the work they have completed over the year and their goals for the future.  It is really awesome to see these little leaders at work!

Playtime after school with Nyliah and Arden!

Another tooth ripped out of her face prematurely...  Crazy kid just wanted more money.... lol

Lia had a school performance and we actually got to go!  It was the first big gathering the school hosted since Covid.  It was so great being back to "normal" and getting to be involved in these milestones.  The show was adorable and Lia had fun.  Can you spot her in the crowd?  Very middle - near a kid in orange.

Girl Scouts pulled all the stops and treated these girls to an adventure at Natural Bridge Caverns for our end of the year celebration.  I have to admit, my expectations were quite low for this "cave" in Texas, but dang!  It is AWESOME!

As their end of the year gift from the leaders, they each got to do rock mining - they all LOVED it.

HCS sponsored a trip to a baseball game for our staff and their guests.  In a major bummer turn of events, a huge thunderstorm was in the forecast so several of our team members opted not to risk the hour drive.  Todd powered through and took the girls anyway.  They ended up having a really great time.  And, it didn't rain at all.  Of course.  haha

The girls got the attention of that player walking by and he threw them a game ball!  Super fun!

After the game, a band called the Spazmatics was playing on the field.  The kids got to see their first concert!  They ran around like crazy people for awhile before heading home.

The last day of school finally arrived.  The kids were super sad, but also excited about summer.  It is such a weird emotional place to be.

Halle and Brooklynn with their teachers Ms. Pucci and Ms. Hernandez

Lia's teacher was out on maternity leave so the awesome student teacher, Ms. Ham, stepped into the role.

Lia's reading teacher, Ms. Isam.

Erin with her teachers, Ms. McCracken and Ms. Weedman

They had a glow paint party - super cute!

Just had to go visit our favorite, Mrs. Redburn!

That afternoon, the kids were hanging out as we prepped for our trip to Virginia and DC.  I overheard them chatting like adults.  It was so cute.  I peek around the corner and flashed to them as teenagers or adults chatting over snacks.  LOVE.
