Sandy Toes, Salty Kisses

Our first family vacation to the beach was a great success!  When traveling with kids, having instant walking distance access to the beach was fantastic!  All the kids loved playing in the sand and all the adults enjoyed the relaxation that came with having three fully entertained children.  When we arrived Thursday we went to check out the beach and played some which was really fun.  Storms off the coast had stirred up a bunch of seaweed we had to contend with, but the kids didn't seem to mind (nor would they know any different!).

Friday we got to spend the better part of the day at the beach and then went right to the pool for a cookout and pool time.

Unfortunately, the weather took a turn and it was raining and cloudy all day Saturday.  Todd took Lia out all day to the aquarium and to another beach area while me, Amy, and Stephen hung out with the little ones and watched football.

Having a view of the waves from the balcony definitely made the rainy day less annoying.  Erin and Halle were getting a bit stir crazy though so Amy and I took a stroller walk with them on the beach and the wind was insane.  We both had to push the stroller to get it to move at all.  Erin and Halle were the highlight of many beachgoer's day and we got a million ooohs and ahhhs over them (apparently they are pretty cute twins...) but my favorite of the day was being asked if Amy and I were also twins because "twins pushing twins would just be awesome!!"  So funny.  Amy really threw them for a loop when she said, no, we aren't twins, but I am a twin.  We walked away leaving them looking a little dumbfounded.

Lia and Todd got home in time for dinner and he said they had a fantastic time.  The dolphins were Lia's favorite and they returned to see them 2-3 times.
