Little Halle-bug is a total sweetheart, very flexible and go with the flow. She is joyful, sensitive and goofy. Halle likes things organized, clean and is a rule follower by nature. She thrives on positive reinforcement and wants to please others. Halle is the one who would give the shirt off her back to make someone else happy or more comfortable. She does not like it when people are upset with her or angry. Halle requires very little intervention in order to get her to comply with a request and it is usually me asking "who is listening to Mama?" She eagerly points out that she is listening and reports that her sisters are "so sad, not listening."
Halle plays really well with Erin and enjoys playing alone more than her sisters. She will distance herself occasionally and I'll find her peacefully playing in her room or reading books upstairs while Erin and Lia are running amok downstairs. An introvert for sure. She needs (and thoroughly enjoys) time alone. She plays well with Lia when they are one on one, but tends to get taken advantage of when all three are playing together. If Halle is in a good mood, she doesn't care and is super flexible, but if she really wants something it is hard for her. She is pretty flexible in general and doesn't get upset easily, but when she does get her feelings hurt or feels like she has been wronged, it is a big deal and it is hard for her to recover.
Halle loves to play outside and absolutely loves the swings. She likes to go really high and laughs most of the time. She enjoys playing with baby dolls, the new dollhouse (she loves it the most out of all three kids), likes to read, and likes playing mommy and baby with Erin and Lia. Her speech is not as clear as Erin's so that makes it a little harder for her to express her opinion when playing. She has the words, but it doesn't flow as fast or as clear as Erin's right now. When she is trying to recall a certain word, she always looks up at the ceiling, which is pretty adorable. D sounds are very prevalent in her speech: "I Hayye! Anna and Elsa pwaying in der and dey want to det out! Where a dadette for Anna?" Translation: "I'm Halle! Anna and Elsa playing in their and they want to get out! Where a jacket for Anna?"
Halle loves going to school and gets a big grin on her face when she knows it is a school day. She is my poky little puppy walking in and out of school because she is waving and talking to everyone. Little miss social. She walks down the halls like she owns the place. Like Erin, she has never cried at drop off and seems totally content at school. She talks about her two little friends at school - Noelle and Ainsley - and she talks about Ms. Kim (her teacher). Halle has long sentences of things she tells me she does at school but I only catch a few words of what she is saying... I wish I could figure out more!!!
Some fun things about Halle - She doesn't like her food to touch other foods on her plate and doesn't like to get dirty. Sticky hands really bother her and she doesn't even want to walk through a dirt/mud pile with shoes on. She has finally started referring to Erin by her name "Eh-win" rather than calling her Halle. She has the most infectious little giggle you only hear when she is laughing really hard. Halle also has dropped her nap, but she is the most likely to fall asleep during quiet time cuddled up with her big bear. She can recognize and write the letter H and can almost write her entire name. Halle and Bob-o still have their super big bond and have even developed a secret wave. Erin and Lia never do it and Halle only really does it when she sees Bob-o. I asked her to "wave to Bob-o" and was able to get this picture!
Halle, you are an awesome cuddler, a great friend to your sisters and an amazingly special little girl! We love you!
