Tis the Season!

We've made it a family tradition to kick off the Christmas season at the Sights and Sounds festival in San Marcos.  I love it - always lots of fun things to do and Santa is the real deal!  This year Mimi and Bob-o joined in on the fun as well.

Todd went over right after work to snag us a primo spot in line for Santa and we did that first thing.  Santa rode in on a pink fire truck and the girls were super impressed.

Watching the fire truck pull in, waiting to catch a glimpse!

"Hey Santa!"

They all got to give him high 5's on the way in.  They were incredibly excited about this!

Just look at those big smiles!

They all did really well talking to Santa.  Lia was a little bit nervous at first, but then marched up there holding Mrs. Claus' hand.  They all spoke clearly and said what they would like for Christmas.  I was excited they picked three different things this year!  :)

I adore this picture.  I adore Santa.
After Santa, we all got a bite to eat for dinner and listened to the choir performances for awhile.  It was nice to sit and absorb the Christmas atmosphere.

After that, it was play time for the kids!  They have all sorts of fun activities every year and this year was no disappointment.

The kids were given a choice on if they wanted to ride the carousel or the "real pony carousel" and they all chose to ride the real ponies.  I feel incredibly bad for these poor ponies, but for the amount of $$ it cost for the kids to do this activity, I hope they are well fed!!!  lol

Halle was, by far, the most excited to be riding the horse.  She was grinning and waving the entire time.

We all had a blast - got to eat some delicious funnel cake, did one last ride on the train and then headed out.  It was late - super late for the kids - but no one slept on the way home - just lots of chatter about Santa, trains, and lights.  So neat to hear how much fun they had.  Bedtime was a total pain in the neck because they struggled to wind down, but thankfully they all slept in the next day.  Erin was still sleeping at 9am!!!  That's a new record.  She definitely loves her sleep.  Girl after my own heart.
