School has lasted longer for my kiddos' district than any in the area, so I feel a little behind the times... BUT! Today is the last day I will have two kindergartners and 1 first grader! It is surreal that they are even THAT old... and now they are OLDER!
Yesterday was the kindergarten celebration/graduation. It was pretty much the sweetest thing ever. They sang a few adorable songs and then each got to walk across the stage and get their certificate. We grabbed Lia from her class so she could come and watch too, which was fun for Erin and Halle to have their sister there. I sent her up close to the front to grab these pictures too!
Sweet Erin had a tough time during this event and Mrs. Redburn said after school that she had a "pretty sad day - I think it really hit her today that it was almost over." It makes my heart hurt to see her going through this hard transition because she has fallen in love with her teacher and feels safe with her. I'm sure it is hard on her to walk toward the unknown of next year. But, we'll get through it!
After the graduation program we were able to go say hi to them in their rooms and we got some cute pictures with some friends.

Erin and her buddy, Raelynn
Today was officially the last day of school. This day, schedule wise, was tough because all three classes had parties or celebrations happening at the same time. A parents' nightmare! However, since we were with Erin and Halle the day before at their big event, we spent most of today with Lia in her class.
We stopped in to say hi to Erin and Halle first and got to stay for a short time before heading over to see Lia.

Halle seemed to be handling this transition quite well and I have a feeling it is because we are going to get to see Mrs. Jensen lots this summer. She is leading a camp next week that all three girls will be going to and will be at swimming lessons with us every week. Saying "see you Monday" is LOTS easier than saying "goodbye."
On to Lia's class! They did a short little skit at the beginning about all the things they learned in 1st grade which was adorable. Mrs. Cruce also handed out awards to each child. These were so special for the kids, were all positive and all included something fun an summery. Lia was awarded the "Glow Stick Award" for her "glowing personality" - how cute!!
This adorable picture was up on the screen when it was Lia's turn for an award. So cute!!

And just like that, kindergarten and first grade are all done!
