"Grape Pa Pa"

This weekend we had a special visitor!  My grandpa came to visit from South Carolina and Lia got to see him again for the first time since she was 3 months old.  It was also special because he was able to meet Erin and Halle!  Lia couldn't quite figure out who he was, but when we said he was her great grandpa, she responded with "grape pa pa" which is a pretty awesome nickname if you ask me!

Here is Lia reading with her "Grape Pa Pa"!  It took her some time to warm up, but she quickly realized that he was a pretty cool guy who would read her as many stories as she could find in the house.  :)

(ignore the background conversation... SOME people were just WAY too loud!)

Grape Pa Pa also made Lillia a very special (and completely incredible) gift.  A handmade pull train complete with the family's pictures for each generation!  Truly amazing and something I know we will always cherish.

Lia knew exactly what to do with this fun new toy!

While we were at my parents' house we also celebrated my brother and sister's birthday.  Michael lives in Dallas and couldn't make the trip, but we sang to him too!  Lia had a little test run with blowing out candles for her own upcoming birthday!

She did NOT understand why the cake was leaving, but was very pleased when her piece of cake and ice cream were later delivered.  FYI, for those with little ones, 7pm is TOO LATE for cake and ice cream.  Wow did we pay the price for that...  but hey, that's what weekends are for right?
