We arrived at the park around 10:30 and decided to take advantage of the fact that it was "only" 92 degrees and take the kids on a trail hike. It was so refreshing to be able to enjoy something that Todd and I both love to do but haven't been able to for so long! The kids had a great time and Lia loved exploring the trail ahead. We didn't hear any complaints and all the kids made it walking the whole time. The trail led to a waterfall and swimming hole so we set up shop and planned to stick around that spot for several hours to play. There is usually a big waterfall into this area, but since we haven't had much rain lately, it was a little trickle over the edge instead of a nice waterfall. Regardless, the water was cool and refreshing for a great day swimming!
We were in and out of the water the whole day. It was so fun to just watch the kids being kids. Building with rocks, collecting shells, lounging on the blanket. Lia lost her jelly shoes (catastrophe!) in the water and so Todd happily donned these goggles and went hunting. Thankfully he was successful in finding both shoes and Lia took over wearing the goggles. So stinking cute!
