Summer don't go!

We've been having such fun this summer!  While I'm so happy to have some cooler weather in our future, I'm going to be bummed out about the end of this season.  It was a great one!

All three girls have turned out to be fantastic swimmers and they all love the water.  Having the pool at the apartment has been a true joy.  Lots of opportunities to practice their skills!  We don't even need to take any floats with us anymore!  FREEDOM!!!

Today was our very last swimming lesson for the season.  Our teacher was excellent and I am still amazed at how easily and quickly the kids took to learning swimming skills.  She had wonderful things to say about how far they have come and was so proud of them.

Last weekend we took the girls letterboxing as a family and had a great time.  The hike was a bit more intense than advertised in the clues and so we ended up hiking almost 2 miles for 4 total letterbox stamps.  It was crazy.  The girls hung in there pretty well and did better when given snacks that occupy their attention away from the fact that they are walking a ton.  Mental note - bring lots of apples next time.

Lia is loving legos lately - and so is Todd!!

I always make sure their hair is pulled back if they are eating something with syrup or honey.  This morning, I got to sleep in and Todd managed to get their hair out of their face.  Mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned!!

Cardboard castle from Hobby Lobby = $8.00 on clearance       Hours of happy kids = PRICELESS
The actual first day of school!  They all had a great day and were happy to return on day 2 (which is usually my indication of just how much they liked day 1....)  Hooray!!
