Courage

"Courage does not mean you don't feel afraid, courage means that you don't let fear stop you."

We've got some big things happening around here that are going to call for some courage and some that have shown that courage is alive and well in this house.  First off, we took the kids to have haircuts for the new school year and Lia had a spontaneous plan to cut her hair super short.  We found a picture online and she was set on a pixie cut.  I was taking some serious deep breaths and kicking myself for saying "it is your head, you have the power to make any decision you want."  I also realized that she felt more confident and happy with her choice knowing that she had full authority to make it.  We talked about how she will need to style it differently, etc and she was ready to go.

Here's all three girls the morning before haircuts - looked slightly disheveled (as usual)...

And here our the outcomes!!  Halle and Erin chose THE EXACT SAME inspiration haircut picture out of about 50 choices - what are the odds.  We talked about how people may confuse them, but they were okay with it (today anyway...)

And here's this brave kid - getting exactly what she was hoping for.  She even told the stylist that it "wasn't short enough" - holy crap, girl, give me a heart attack why don't you!?!?!?
