The day before Halloween, Erin and Halle had a "Fall Festival" at school where they got to dress up in their costumes and do fun carnival type activities. They had a ball! I got to join them for part of the event as well.

| Halle was super annoyed that I wouldn't allow her to wear her mask to school (didn't want it to go missing) and so she had the face painting booth paint one on for her. Clever girl! |

Then the day was finally here! It had been beautiful weather for the past few days and then we were very sad to look at the forecast and see raining and cold for Halloween night. The year the kids have their best costumes ever, we get rained out. Bummer.
We saw that there may be a break in the weather a little later on, so the Schankels headed over to join in the on the fun.
Shortly thereafter, the cast of UP joined!!

| Miles was totally confused as to who these kids were who were hanging out with him... |
We had a little impromptu Halloween party and the kids had a ball playing in their costumes while we waited for the weather to let up.
THEN! FINALLY! We just decided to suck it up and go. Rain or no rain. There were barely any kids out, so the few houses we hit were VERY generous with their candy hand outs. The kids' buckets were filled quickly and we headed home to warm up.
It was a fun day, but I'm sad it has rained two years in a row for the kiddos. The neighborhood banded together and did Halloween 2.0 the next night, but we got enough candy to last the entire year in the first night, so we opted out. Regardless, the kids had fun and now are super delighted to have their superhero costumes available for dress up play (especially the wigs!!).
