It was a fun time of celebration around here for Lia's birthday! We had a party for her at The Art Garage in Austin where the kids were able to paint pottery. We opted for all girls for this event and had her classmates, close friends and girl scout troop in attendance. It was a great group! Lia felt special all day and had a great time.

The party table set up - simple, but cute!

Lia's kinder teacher (and Erin's current teacher) does cookies like this on the side, so we used her made skills for these cookies. They were adorable!!!

"Bird Food" snacks

Lia and Mady!
It was a super fun event and I was excited because it was easiest party we've ever done! I love throwing parties (don't get me wrong), but it was nice to hand off the party-doing to the professionals! The only thing we didn't bank on is the fact that the kids would be done painting in record time. Then, things got silly with a room full of girls and snacks....

They got to go back and see the "fire pit" where they fire all the pottery.

Straight to presents when we got home!!

Lia's birthday party was about a week before her actual birthday. On her big day, she got her pick of breakfast and opted for pancakes in the shape of a 7. Done and Done. :)
We had big plans of having everyone over for "Lia's favorite things" dinner and presents, but things did not work out how we planned... Erin had been sick over the weekend and took a turn for the worst on Lia's birthday which landed us in the ER...
After 2 IV bags of fluid and some meds, she was feeling more herself.
Meanwhile, Lia was spending her birthday at Dad's office.
Lia was super empathetic to Erin's illness and while at CVS with me later that day, wanted to get Erin a little stuffed animal to make her feel better. Pretty great that this kiddo is capable of thinking about others on her birthday, of all days.
We ended up opening her gifts that night while still working with Erin and trying to get her to feel better. It was not the day we planned (for sure) but we made the best of it. Lia said "my birthday day was just okay because Erin was so sick and was at the hospital, but my party day was so fun." At least she's honest....
