Maiden Voyage

Camper was obtained on Tuesday and we were camping on Friday.  Love.

We were able to snag a spot at the last minute at an RV park on the Guadalupe that the Kasprzaks had already booked.  They arrived the day before we did and called to say it was "uh, not what it seemed it would be based on the website..."  Let's just say this place was probably awesome 10 years ago and they've just let it rot since then.  It wasn't my favorite, but we were camping!

The kids totally didn't care and had a ball.  They played with rocks, swam in the super cold river and hung out in the RV.  A major cold front blew in Friday night which none of us were prepared for, so Beth and I got to go check out the local Walmart in search of jackets...  next time we'll be looking at the weather.

Birdie was having a ball playing with Lady in the water until she went a little crazy and bolted through a giant patch of stickerburr bushes - it was AWFUL.  Took some bleeding fingers about 30 minutes to pull them all out of her long fur.  Betting there were about 50 all over her.

This dilapidated structure was previously (and according to their website, still is) the water sports building where they rent out canoes, kayaks and SUP...  none of that was actually here in real life.

Overall it was a fun trip, but let's just say we won't be back to this place... We are 1 for 3 on our trips this season for parks.  Let's hope the next spot is better!!
