Birthday Reflections

As we settle in to the fact that we have two six year olds and a seven year old (where did my babies go?), I realized I haven't done a birthday "about me" type post for Erin and Halle yet.

I didn't pull it together enough to do a real live photo shoot, but I did manage to grab some cute photos of their six year old selves.  :)

ERIN

Erin has flourished over the past year.  She is sensitive, loving, funny, joyful, emotive, cautious, thoughtful, compliant, and simply wants to be loved.  Being in her own class in kindergarten served her well and the transformation has been amazing to watch.  She is more confident, more independent, has made her own friendships and stands up for herself more.  Erin continues to wear her emotions on her sleeve and it is easy to tell how she is feeling.  She is still LOUD and is a total goofball.  She has enjoys making people laugh with silly faces or jokes.  Erin is amazing at Nintendo video games and gives me a run for my money in Donkey Kong. :)  If she is in new situations or is feeling sad/scared, she still prefers me vs Todd and is a bit more of a Mama's girl.  Her favorites at the moment are puzzles, playing games with the family, going on muffin dates, playing barbies with Lia and Halle, and pretend play.  We started music lessons back in January and she LOVES learning the piano.  She willingly practices and really strives to master each assignment.  We are head over heels in love with you sweet E-nee panini!!

HALLE
New haircut!!!  So cute.  :)

Halle is amazing, happy, clever, funny, surprising, friendly, social, a little OCD, open, and up for anything.  She loves a challenge and likes to impress others, but usually not in physically daring activities.  She does not like doing things that are scary (rock climbing to the top, etc) but enjoys challenging herself in new activities (reading, piano, etc).  She has taken a major interest in reading and blew through all the kindergarten expectations like a boss.  She LOVES school and marches in there like she owns the place.  She seems to be the most at ease out of the three girls in new sitautions and is not easily phased.  Halle does not like to be overlooked and is sad if she is left out of something.  She HATES being last in doing an activity and really despises going in "borned order" as Lia says.  Halle is super social and has lots of friends.  She is beginning to realize the fun in having a twin sister and got Erin to switch nametags with her at camp recently to confuse the teachers.  And thought it was HILARIOUS.  What's the fun in having a twin if you can't mess with people occasionally??  Sweet Halle bug - you are such a fun loving and incredible little girl - we love you!!

Google puts together little movies with photos/videos and this one popped up recently.  I got one for Lia but only one other video for Erin and Halle.  I'm fairly certain that Google thinks they are the same person.  LOL
